The Cactus II bar, within the complex, is definitely worth a visit. It offers a unique and friendly atmosphere where everyone is made very welcome by Mark and the lovely Alison. Most evenings there is live singing by the seasoned entertainer Mark Morton.

The bar is run by Mark and the attractive and welcoming Alison. Alison and the bar staff are very attentive and always on hand to ensure you are comfortable and having a good time.

Cactos II is a cosy well stocked bar with plenty of atmosphere where newcomers and regulars to the Dunas Do Alvor make it a must venue.
All major sporting events are usually scheduled so you should never miss an important match! 3 different TV locations enable you see all the the action with no jostling for position.

Evening entertainment consists of Mark. He has good memory for faces so watch it. Mark's trademark is he links your home town to the you. So, on entry or exit to the bar expect to be called Londoner, Liverpool or Edinburgh, etc…. I always sneak into the bar before he notices and announces it to the whole bar. A novel way to get to know others in the bar without having spoken to each other.

Mark sings a selection of songs from the 60s to the present day. In Mark's own words "No songs from before the war, no country and western (Because they are all about gamblers, dead dogs or dirty women), no songs by women and no songs by dead people, but Elvis is OK because I don't believe he is dead"!

Outside Cactos II in the afternoon seats are bathed in sunshine. Just picture yourself having a cold beer or lager served in a glass that has been chilled. Relaxed with not a care in the world the thought of home becomes a hazy distant memory.
